In 1998, Engineers Randall Wagner and Kurt Schoeckert developed the spectrophotometer, and Mr. Wagner formed GemEx Systems and purchased all rights to the technology from the previous company owners.
They took the technology and applied it to the measurement of the light coming out of diamonds and created the BrillianceScope. The BrillianceScope measures the amount of Brilliance, Fire and Scintillation or sparkle that a diamond exhibits. The results of the measurement are provided in the form of the GemEx Brilliance, Fire and Sparkle report.
This system of light evaluation of diamonds is used by over 25 DTC site holders and there are now almost 200 of these machines used all over the world. Recently we surpassed the 2 millionth diamond measured by GemEx for light performance.
This method of diamond evaluation is very consumer friendly and has been proven to get the sellers of diamonds more margin and profit on their diamonds. GemEx is well on its way to becoming the new standard and the most profitable way to differentiate your diamonds.
